Shifting Birth Culture Through Education, Equity + Connection

Atlanta’s birth outcomes reflect deep systemic inequities. Rooted & Rising centers those realities with openness, courage, and community care. Our programming invites birth workers to:

  • Examine their role in advancing birth justice

  • Build culturally grounded, equity-centered practices

  • Develop advocacy skills for families navigating complex systems

  • Connect with peers who understand the unique challenges of local birth work

This is not a passive conference—it is an active & ongoing circle of learning, reflection, and collaboration that helps birth workers operate with clarity, purpose, and cultural humility.

The relationships formed here don’t end when the event does. This space is intentionally built for ongoing connection, mentorship, and collective leadership

Real Impact for You and the Families You Serve

The clarity, confidence, and community you gain at Rooted & Rising translates directly into improved support for families. Our curriculum blends evidence, lived experience, cultural grounding, and practical tools, giving you strategies you can implement right away.

Participants will leave feeling:

More confident navigating complex or high-stakes birth scenarios

More grounded emotionally and spiritually

More aligned with their purpose and values

More prepared to advocate within healthcare systems

More supported by a community that “gets it”

Pre-Conference attendees will also have access to certification-track training:

  • Black Women Do VBAC™ (advanced surgical/VBAC support skills)

  • NBPP Postpartum Doula Workshop (4-week postpartum certification track)

Together, these trainings create a strong foundation for the next phase of your birth work journey.
